4 Tips To Get Your Garden and Patio Ready for Summer
The daffodils and snowdrops are starting appear which means that spring is on it’s way. It’s time to start thinking about the summer and the fun out door times ahead.
Family BBQ’s and relaxing in the sunshine in your own back garden can be made even better by enhancing the space you have available.
Here are 4 tips to help you get your patio area ready for the summer.
1. Clear weeds, debris etc.
Dependant on the type of patio you have will determine how much maintenance it will require. For example if you have block paving or slabs, weeds and moss may have grown through so you will need to use a weed killer to kill these. You may also need to re-point the cement if this has worn away and is looking untidy or bricks or slabs have sunken causing an uneven surface. If you have a Pattern imprinted concrete patio you won’t need to do this as this product means no sinking or weeds.
2. Wash down
Once you have cleared debris etc. then give your patio a good power wash down to remove any moss and algae etc. leaving your patio looking fresh again.
3. Reseal if necessary
You may wish to get your patio resealed with a solvent based acrylic sealant with added non slip protection to give it a new lease of life (For Readypave patios we advise resealling every 7-10 years dependent on usage)
4. Replace or improve your patio area
If after taking the 3 steps above you are still not happy with the apperance of your current patio area it may be time to think about replacing it. Slabs and block paving will have a limited lifespan compared to Pattern Imprinted Concrete patios with it’s UV stable colour which won’t fade so will last a lot longer. Think about how long your patio has been down and if it’s ready for an update.
